MIMO District Photographic Field Trip
Date: To be announced
Architectural photographer Marco Bell will be leading his group on an exploration of Mid-Century Miami. MiMo, or Miami-Modern architecture, is a regional style that developed in South Florida during the post-war period. A neighborhood that was once a deserted wasteland of debilitated structures, the MiMo District (located in Biscayne Boulevard and the surrounding area between NE 50th to NE 77th Streets) has made a comeback and it’s full of photographic possibilities.
This hands-on field trip will enhance your skills, you will discover new and fascinating ways of photographing buildings, monuments and architectural details. We’ll guide you through the jewels of this quintessential Miami neighborhood and you will create stunning shots, experiment with filters, lenses, exposure times and other techniques.
Wear comfortable shoes and bring your tripod, filters and your best lenses. We’ll share composition secrets, light considerations and will focus on the use of shadows to emphasize details and lines. The workshop will be an interesting opportunity for creating stories with pictures. Join us and let’s have fun documenting these unique and largely intact mix of architectural styles.
Meeting at the Vagabond Hotel at 8 am
7301 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33138
Duration: approximately 3 hours. (8am a 11 am)
