This workshop studies photography as a means of artistic expression, exploring the power it has to transmit and provoke messages in a poetic context. We will analyze the aesthetics behind the work of photographers who have developed a unique, creative style that translates no matter the topic photographed. The objective is to establish a foundation on which to build a visually poetic body of work through aesthetic exercises that study the interaction between text and image, their strengths or weakness exposed when faced with each other and the value they hold. Utilizing our existing photographic archives, students will learn to visualize, edit, re-edit, develop and unveil their creative capacity.
